The government intends to increase import customs duties for 282 items and consider the ban on importing for 272 items of commodities.
According to the economic correspondent of the Tasnim News Agency, the Ministry of Industry intends to ban the imports of 272 items of goods and to increase tariffs for 282 items of goods. Accordingly, if approved by the Cabinet, 554 items of goods will be subject to a ban on imports or a increase in imported tariffs which will be inserted in this year book of import and export regulations.
For example, the government intends to increase the total customs duties and commercial profits for some types of tire from 32% to 40% in order to support domestic production.
