Koehler Paper has upgraded the coating plant of the PM 5 at its Oberkirch mill in southern Germany. The company produces carbonless copy paper and other specialties on that machine.
The company replaced the entire coating plant including the non-contact drying section as part of the upgrade, which was carried out in August 2020. Koehler Paper puts the investment sum at €10m.
The project is currently in the optimization phase, the company added. Improvements are already visible with respect to reel and profile quality as well as process stability, Koehler Paper reports.
