In December 2022, the average price for the logs exported from New Zealand decreased 6% compared to the previous month at $97 per m3. This is 6% less than a year ago when it was $103. The exports of logs from New Zealand increased 13% year-on-year to 1,672 thousand m3 in December.

In December, price for wood chips imported to Japan slips 1.7%

In December 2022, the average price for wood chips imported to Japan downed 1.7% compared to the previous month at $217 per tonne. This is 21% more than a year ago when it was $179. The imports of wood chips from Japan grew 24% year-on-year to 995 thousand tonnes in December.
